What's Measured

Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH): Crucial for reproductive health, FSH stimulates the growth of ovarian follicles in the ovary before the release of an egg.

Luteinizing Hormone (LH): Plays a key role in regulating the menstrual cycle and egg release (ovulation).

Prolactin: Often associated with breast milk production, elevated prolactin levels can affect menstrual regularity and fertility.

Estradiol: The primary form of estrogen in women of childbearing age, important for menstrual cycle regulation and reproductive health.

Dehydroepiandrosterone Sulfate (DHEA-S): A hormone involved in the production of sex hormones, which can affect energy, mood, and libido.

Cortisol: Known as the stress hormone, cortisol levels can impact various health aspects, including menstrual regularity and mood.

Progesterone: Essential for regulating the menstrual cycle and maintaining the early stages of pregnancy.

TSH (Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone): Integral for assessing thyroid health, crucial in regulating metabolism, energy levels, and overall hormonal balance in women.

When to Test

Reproductive Health Concerns: If experiencing issues such as irregular periods, difficulty conceiving, or symptoms of hormonal imbalances.

Menstrual Irregularities: To understand the cause of irregular or missed periods.

Wellness Monitoring: For an overall assessment of hormonal health, especially for women considering pregnancy or those experiencing menopausal symptoms.

Stress Assessment: Cortisol can affect overall health and well-being.

Special Instructions:

Timing of Collection: Collect your sample between days 3 to 7 of your menstrual cycle, counting from the first day of bleeding. This period is crucial as women’s hormone levels vary throughout the cycle, and the lab's reference ranges are specific to this phase.

Regular Cycles: If you have a regular menstrual cycle, adhere strictly to the 3 to 7 days window for accurate results.

Irregular or Absent Periods: If your periods are irregular or absent, take the test as best as you can estimate but consult your healthcare provider for interpretation of the results.

Morning Collection: Collect your sample in the morning for the most accurate hormone levels.

Day of the Week: Ensure the sample is collected on a weekday, from Monday to Thursday before noon, as it needs to be returned on the same day.

Avoid Hormonal Contraceptives: Do not take the test if you have used hormonal contraceptives or hormone replacement therapy in the past three months, as these can affect the accuracy of the results.

Biotin Supplements: If you take supplements containing Biotin (Vitamin B7 or B8, vitamin H, or coenzyme R), wait at least 72 hours after your last dose before collecting your sample to avoid interference with the results.

Steroid Medication: If you have used anabolic steroids or any steroid-containing medication in the past 3-6 months, or steroid creams within the last week, be aware that these may impact the test results.

Age Restrictions: This test is not suitable for individuals under the age of 18.
